Family Sponsorships

Canadian Citizens and Permanent Residents are able to reunite with their family members in Canada through the Family Class sponsorship. Eligible Canadian Citizens and Permanent Residents who are over the age of 18 years are able to sponsor their family members to Canada as long as they can show that they are capable providing the basic needs for their loved ones. Individuals who can be sponsored under the Family Class program are:

• Spouses, Common-Law Partners and Conjugal Partners
• Dependent Children (under the age 22; over 22 (certain conditions)
• Parents and Grandparents
• Adopted Children
• Nieces, nephews, grandchildren who are under the age of 18 and who are orphaned
• Other relatives (if the Canadian or Permanent Resident has no one alive from above categories of persons that they can sponsor).
