Business Immigration

Business Immigrants are selected based on their ability to become economically established and support the development of the Canadian economy by creating successful businesses supporting job creation.

There are two federal programs for Business immigrants:

• Start – up visa program
• Self- employed persons
• To be eligible for the Start-up Visa Program individuals are required to have an innovative business idea, a commitment of support from a designated Canadian venture capital fund, business incubator or angel investor group; meet the necessary language requirements and show sufficient settlement funds to support themselves and their family members.
• To be eligible under the Self- employed persons category individuals must have the required number of years of work experience either cultural activities or athletics. Their experience must have been significant and at the world class level so that they could contribute similarly to Canada by operating a business. Individuals under this program are required to show settlement funds to support themselves and their family members.
