Immigration Appeals
The Immigration Appeal Division (IAD) hears appeals on immigration-related matters, including sponsorships, removal orders and residency obligations. Persons in Canada who have a right to appeal before the IAD are:
- Canadian Citizens and Permanent Residents who applied to sponsor their family members
- Permanent Residents who breached their residency obligations
- Permanent Residents who are under a removal order
- Protected persons who are under a removal order
- Foreign nationals with a Permanent Resident Visa
Individuals who do not have the right to appeal before the IAD can submit an application for leave of judicial review before the Federal Court.
